Rex Whittaker

Rex is the principal of NBC Financial Services and NBC Accounting Services, and works as a qualified Accountant and Financial Adviser within the firm.

Rex’s working history involves managing a small business for three years and working in the finance department of major corporations for eight years. He has worked as a Tax Accountant and Business Consultant since 1999 and as a Financial Adviser since 2004.

Rex holds a Bachelor of Commerce with majors in Accounting and Management Information Systems, as well as an Advanced Diploma of Financial Planning. He is a member of recognised bodies, FPA and CPA Australia.

With these affiliation and extensive experience, Rex is well qualified to help clients achieve their financial goals as well as committed to building long-term relationships with his clients and providing them with the best in professional advice and personal service.

As an Authorised Representative of Apogee Financial Planning Ltd, Rex is able to assist clients with investment selection and taxation strategies, superannuation strategy, as well as estate planning and risk management. He is especially interested in providing strategic investment advice within Self-Managed Super Funds.

Rex divides his working week between our Mount Gambier and Millicent offices after moving to Mount Gambier in early 2013 after living in Millicent for 25 years.

Amy Mason

Amy joined NBC in 2008 and is our in-house specialist with the cloud base Xero Accounting Software.

She is Certified as a Xero Adviser, which with her knowledge and experience, enables her to complete the setup for new businesses and the conversion from other software for existing businesses. She then trains new and current clients on how to use Xero and supports them ongoing.

She also works in an Accounting Support role, assisting clients with their BAS preparation, business services and completing tax returns.

She is based in our Millicent office but does offer appointments in our Mount Gambier office to clients enquiring about Xero.
Amy grew up on a farm at Tantanoola and is now living in Millicent with her husband and two little girls.

Karen Buchanan

Karen has 20 years of experience in the Accounting industry starting out with Terry Scott as an administration and support worker from 1999 to 2013, and then moving to NBC Accounting Services in 2013 when they began the acquisition of Terry’s business.

She currently works in an Accounting Support role, assisting clients with their BAS preparation, business services and completing tax returns, and she also specialises in Self-Managed Super Fund reporting.

At the start of 2018 year Karen reduced her work hours back to part time enabling her to help with her grandchildren, one whom has recently started school.

She also likes to travel to Perth to spend time with her new baby granddaughter, son and his partner.

Lisa Ilsley

Lisa has over 10 years’ experience in the finance industry spending most of those within a Financial Planning business before joining NBC early in 2017 as the Administration Manager.

She has also recently started working in an Accounting Support role whilst undertaking a Bachelor of Commerce to become a qualified Accountant.

Lisa, her husband and two of her three children live locally in Mount Gambier, and most evenings and weekends she can be found at one of the many local sporting complexes around the region with her family who are heavily involved with sports.

Tania Horrigan

Tania has over 20 years in Reception and Office Duties, in various businesses. She joined NBC in Mid 2016 as an Office Temp, but has now joined us on a Casual Basis helping everybody in various rolls.

Tania, her husband and four children have lived in Mount Gambier all their lives, and can be found at the Netball/Football Clubs, Baseball Field and Basketball Stadium, with a lot of trips to Adelaide for Basketball thrown in as well.

Aylee Cameron

Aylee has over 5 years’ experience in the Accounting Industry spending most of time as Receptionist & Personal Assistant to the Accountants. Aylee joined the NBC team in October 2019 as our Receptionist. She is currently studying her Diploma in Accounting after deciding to pursue a career in the Accounting Industry.

Aylee has just returned back to Mount Gambier with her partner after living in Adelaide for few years after deciding that they much prefer the laid back country lifestyle. Outside of work you will find Aylee outdoors somewhere whether be taking her dogs down to beach or for walks or watching her partner and family playing local sport.
